Founded in Hangzhou in the summer of 2014, Mario Tsai Studio is a research-based practice that pride itself on innovative thinking to produce sustainable design. Unconstrained by conventional methods, in whatever industry or culture it works in, the studio uses rigorous logic coupled with a fluid sense of artistry to present the works, whether in the form of products, installations, strategies or exhibitions.

In recent years, Mario Tsai Studio has been dedicated to self-driven design research, exploring the origin and logic of things, and combing and designing the creation process with macro thinking. The studio is dedicated to the design variables brought by technological innovation, unconventional use of materials and structural innovation, with ductility and longevity as the basic principles for its designs.

MARIO TSAI, the independent brand of Mario Tsai Studio, is likewise guided by experimental, flexible thinking,
focusing attention on a project’s material characteristics, systematic structure and the sustainability of its life cycle,
and integrating into it a soft minimalist aesthetic.

Founder Mario Tsai
Two years of practical experience in design and production in a Beijing furniture factory after graduation in 2011 has honed Mario's
solid professional skills and macro thinking.Since the establishment of his studio in 2014, Mario has always maintained his independent thinking and passion for design,
exploring a unique and suitable design development path through his continuous design practice and global exhibition experience, moving forward with courage and restraint.

창립자 마리오 차이
2011년 졸업 후 베이징 가구 공장에서 2년간의 디자인 및 생산 실무 경험을 통해 Mario는 탄탄한 전문 기술과 거시적 사고를 연마했습니다. Mario는 2014년 스튜디오를 설립한 이후 항상 디자인에 대한 독립적인 사고와 열정을 유지해 왔습니다. 지속적인 디자인 실천과 글로벌 전시 경험을 통해 독특하고 적합한 디자인 개발 경로를 제시하며 용기와 자제력으로 전진합니다.
